 Tuesday August 18, 2009:   NOFA’s Organic Lawn and Turf Course
This one day intensive course in organic turf management will be held at Duke Farms located in Hillsborough, NJ. Designing a Winter CSA

Genesis Farms runs one of the few winter CSAs in the region and they do so by offering root crops and fresh greens throughout the winter.   Mike Baki, the head grower will show us their production and storage methods and talk about their operation.

Through the years, Bob Muth has gained recognition as one of the leading regional farmers in areas of sustainable agriculture, soil development, community supported agriculture and organic farming.   In this meeting, Bob Muth will demonstrate how to graft heirloom varieties onto disease resistant root stock!

The Energy Efficient Farm of the Future

Jon McConaughy is creating a grass fed beef operation to be as free of fossil fuels as possible.  His farm house demonstrates solar and geothermal technologies, his barn has a wood furnace and he will be transforming his machinery to biodiesel in the near future.
